Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition and Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology 2022 deferred

10 May 2022

In light of the ongoing pandemic situation across China and to actively support government efforts towards containment, the 2022 editions of Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (GILE) and Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology (GEBT) will be rescheduled, with new dates to be announced in due course. Both shows were originally scheduled to take place from 9 – 12 June at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou.

On the announcement of the two fairs' deferral, Ms Lucia Wong, Deputy General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd commented: “As an organiser of the leading events in the lighting and building technology sectors in Asia, we are committed to providing a safe and accessible platform for business exchange. Due to the current pandemic situation, we have decided to hold GILE and GEBT at a later date after serious discussion with our stakeholders. This will provide greater accessibility and maximise the exhibition experience for all fairgoers. We are working closely with the fairground for the appropriate dates and in the meantime we would like to thank the industry for backing our decision.”

To ensure that visitors and exhibitors are meeting in a hygienic and safe environment, added measures will be in place during the show. These include: real-name authentication at registration, onsite temperature checks, frequent sterilisation of public areas and distancing measures for event audiences, amongst others.

Exhibitors and visitors for GILE can email light@china.messefrankfurt.com or visit www.light.messefrankfurt.com.cn for further details.
