As AIoT integration and demand for healthier living environments become more central considerations in product development and project planning, GILE 2026 reflects the industry’s shift from standalone product manufacturing to broader, service-focused offerings. Under the theme “Light-Enhanced Living”, this edition builds on these developments by encouraging closer collaboration across sectors and new approaches to lighting design.
Ms Lucia Wong, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, shared: “This year, we have set a new standard for what trade exhibitions should deliver. GILE now serves as more than a product showcase, combining forums, matchmaking and awards with exhibition displays to support professional exchange and industry innovation. Our intention is to construct an ecosystem supporting the entire product lifecycle from initial R&D and creative design to end-use application, as well as to steer the market toward a more integrated and sustainable future.”
She added: “GILE is dedicated to building an international innovation community focused on cross-sector collaboration, global growth and sustainable development. By working alongside industry professionals to implement bold ideas, we aim to unite the industry around a common direction.”
A closer look at “Light-Enhanced Living”
GILE 2026 centres on five key application pillars that demonstrate how lighting has moved beyond basic utility to a tool for addressing broader human and environmental needs:
- Biological: Highlights human-centric lighting, circadian lighting and healthy lighting environment solutions.
- Emotional: Explores how light influences mood and comfort through emotional lighting design and atmospheric lighting scenarios.
- Digital: Covers smart lighting systems, IoT integration and AI-driven adaptive lighting environments.
- Ecological: Emphasises green materials, circular design and low carbon technologies to support the industry’s transition toward carbon neutrality.
- Immersive: Showcases how projection mapping, interactive displays and creative media turn ordinary surroundings into memorable visual experiences.
Guided by these five pillars, the fair presents a comprehensive range of solutions that support human wellbeing and environmental performance across domestic, commercial, agricultural and urban settings.
