New dates for Guangzhou Light + Building fairs confirmed: 3 – 6 August 2021

29 Jun 2021

Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (GILE) and Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology (GEBT) will take place from 3 – 6 August 2021 now that the pandemic situation is under control in Guangdong province. The two concurrent fairs, which were originally scheduled for June, will take place at the China Import and Export Fair Complex.

“We would like to thank all our stakeholders in the industry for their ongoing support and trust in the fairs,” Ms Lucia Wong, Deputy General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd expressed. “GILE has been an integral part of the lighting industry for 25 years, and together with GEBT has built a platform that creates new business opportunities and exchanges for the industry. In the past month since we announced the postponement we have not stood still, hosting a successful 10-day online exhibition to support the industry.”

Ms Wong continued: “Now that the new dates are set we will devote all our efforts to the preparation and promotion of the August fairs. The Guangdong government has enhanced its support for events to resume from July onwards. And we have been in close communication with the fairground management to prepare comprehensive cleaning and disinfection measures for the fair period, as well as epidemic prevention and control plans to ensure the safety of all those involved.”

“The theme of GILE this year is ‘The Future is Now’, which was chosen to encourage the lighting industry to seek breakthroughs and be optimistic about the upcoming developments. And both fairs will work together with the industry to promote a transition towards personalisation, digitisation, energy-saving and quality improvement. We will continue to work side by side with the lighting and building industries to support their development, and we look forward to welcoming them to Guangzhou in August!”

GILE is the lighting sector’s most influential and comprehensive event in Asia, while GEBT is the region’s premier platform for the electrical engineering, intelligent building and smart home markets. The fairs provide a comprehensive platform for sourcing needs and business opportunities whilst encouraging exhibitors and visitors to share the latest market information and research.

The Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition and Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology fairs are part of Messe Frankfurt’s Light + Building Technology fairs headed by the biennial Light + Building event. The next edition will be held from 13 – 18 March 2022 in Frankfurt, Germany.

Messe Frankfurt also offers a series of other light and building technology events worldwide, including Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology, Shanghai Smart Home Technology, Parking China and other events in Argentina, India, Russia, Thailand and the UAE.
